National Stonewall Democrats has initiated “Pride in the Party” to increase participation by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and to increase the level of LGBT participation within state and local party organizations.

Pride in the Party is about strengthening the LGBT community’s bond with the Democratic Party at all levels of the Party.  We want to help the Democratic Party and its candidates better understand that the LGBT community is a vital and vibrant part of the Party’s winning coalition at national, state and local levels.  And, we want to help the LGBT community know that by working with the Party, we can advance the issues important to us.

Pride in the Party will undertake unprecedented efforts in outreach to the LGBT community at the local and state level in every state and work with other LGBT advocacy and Democratic Party organizations.
